Born and raised in downtown Toronto, Kalyssa is a genre-blending vocalist, songwriter, and emerging producer who turns pain into purpose. A survivor of childhood trauma, she transforms her lived experiences into raw, healing soundscapes that speak directly to the soul.
Kalyssa holds a degree in Social Work, which deeply informs her music and advocacy—though she has chosen not to practice in the traditional field. Instead, she channels her passion for mental health and social justice through her art, using music as a bridge to connect, empower, and speak to the unspoken struggles so many carry in silence. Her music is more than melody—it's medicine.
THE MUSIC
Healing through sound. Truth through lyrics.
Kalyssa’s discography is a mirror of her emotional, spiritual, and artistic evolution. Her most impactful releases include:
"My Reflection" - a journey through pain, grief, healing, and rediscovery. If you’ve ever felt like you disappeared inside yourself, this is for you.
“Letter to Myself” – a tender, soul-baring track written to the inner child who endured unspeakable pain
“Scars In My Soul” – a haunting new single reflecting the ongoing journey of healing, in collaboration with K WooDZ
“Time Waits For No One” – written from deep-rooted trauma to remind others they are not alone
“The Awakening” EP – a bold, socially-charged project with K WooDZ and SerenJΔde and her breathtaking operatic vocals that blends vulnerability with revolutionary truth, including house remixes by Erik Elias (New York City) and the Slid and Wrecked mix by DJ Slowpoke (Texas)
Each track is more than a song—it's a lifeline for anyone in need of hope, truth, and connection.
FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE
A grassroots movement. A powerful sisterhood.
Kalyssa is one-half of For The People By The People, a creative and activist duo she co-leads with artist, performer, and four-time published author K WooDZ. Together, they use their talents to challenge silence, ignite awareness, and give voice to those whose stories too often go unheard.
K WooDZ’s written work is as compelling as her music. Her books—especially the powerful release The Hidden Track—offer a raw, unflinching look into the world of human sex trafficking, told through several different lenses. It's a must-read for anyone seeking to better understand these realities through truth-based storytelling.
Their collaborative songs—The Awakening EP, Scars In My Soul, I Can’t Breathe, Drowning, and more from The Revolution EP—are rooted in lived experience, protest, and healing. Together, they perform in spaces that demand truth, from underground stages to advocacy-centered events, always amplifying the message:
You are not alone. Your story matters. Healing is possible.
THE JOURNEY WITHIN
From artist to producer.
After over a decade of writing, recording, and performing, Kalyssa has stepped into her next chapter—producing her own music. This evolution marks a powerful moment of reclamation, as she begins crafting soundscapes that reflect her artistic vision, emotional depth, and unapologetic voice.
Her sound is no longer shaped for the world—it’s shaped by truth.
This isn’t just growth. It’s liberation.
